Location: Howard Park Waddington Town Beach
About Us: We are a local community park with a beautiful beach area, seeking a dedicated individual to ensure its cleanliness and upkeep.
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Beach Caretaker and Maintenance Person. This is a seasonal position from May 1st - September 30th. This role involves working with the Town of Waddington to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appeal of our beach, park, and campground area. The position will also include a small waterfront cabin with utilities.
Responsibilities include:
Beach Maintenance:
Assisting Lifeguards with removing debris.
Maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms, picnic areas, and other beach facilities.
Working with the Beach Manager to ensure compliance with New York State regulations.
General Maintenance:
Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks on beach equipment and facilities.
Assisting with seasonal setup and teardown of beach amenities.
Ensuring the area is well-maintained and presentable for visitors. This includes, but not limited to, mowing, trimming, and flower beds.
Working collaboratively with the Town Clerk to maintain conditions of the pavilion and provide assistance to patrons for summer rental events.
Customer Service:
Providing friendly and helpful assistance to beach and park visitors.
Answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of beach maintenance and cleaning procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds.
Must maintain on premises residence during seasonal position.
